“Partnership approach to assessment and development results in lower staff turnover, increased productivity and more motivated and engaged employees”
Situation: Within the Clinical Research area of AstraZeneca, a development centre was required to help identify internally who would take on the key Project Co-ordinator Director roles.
What happened? A thorough job analysis and competency development project was undertaken. This involved mapping existing competencies onto those identified via the job analysis and this aspect of the project was very much a partnership approach. From these competencies a Development Centre was created.The outcome: As well as helping AstraZeneca identify those most suitable to this challenging and important role, it also involved training the client so that they could deliver a lot of the process in the future. This resulted in buy-in early on from all stakeholders as well as the business seeing the benefits of recruiting the right people into the roles (increased productivity, motivated and engaged employees, reductions in staff turnover for this role compared with previous statistics).
